MIDDLE SCHOOL STEAM

Within the Middle School (Grades 6 - 8), Alathena strive hard to create a warm, supportive, and innovative learning environment, and use the STEAM education for students to pursue their passions from a wide variety of club choices, global and local community initiatives, experiential educational opportunities and exciting learning plans both in and out of the classroom.

STEAM education is the study of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, including cross-curricular and/or integrative study, and the application of those subjects in real-world contexts. As students engage in STEAM education, they develop transferable skills that they need to meet the demands of today’s global economy and society.

Among the transferable skills developed through STEAM education are computational thinking, coding, design thinking, innovating, use of the scientific method, scientific inquiry skills, and engineering design skills. These skills are in high demand in today’s globally connected world, with its unprecedented advancements in technology.
